I read raving reviews about this remedy at home and a quiet quarantine morning before my boyfriend woke up, I turned a honey bottle and a brown sugar box, I turned them together, and I crunched the concoction on my lips. At first it felt great. I could see those stuffed cups that removed my lips easily. What happened next, not so cute. All over the bottom of my mouth, little drops of blood began to emerge, and as I moved away from the head of the mirror, I realized the pigment on my lips had become creepy and much darker on certain pieces than others. I got in hard, and I'll never do it again. The point of sharing this horror story now common? To illustrate why I am the perfect candidate to share the effectiveness of a lipstick (in particular if you share my dry lipstick), so I was more than ready to take the Eos product portfolio for a return. I stain it to my overall skin sensitivity; my face is not dry, but I have mild rosette and is very fine with diet and products. The feeling: Oh-so moisturizing For this experiment, I tried four balms of Eos' lips: the original balm in the form of egg in a , a tube shape, a , and a . Each of the four offers different textures, with the balm of the mint tube being my favorite. The OG egg-shaped balm is the driest of the group and requires a few twists through the lips to achieve the full application. It's good for someone who wants to hydrate slightly. The same is true of the tin balm; it also comes in an egg form, and although it provides enough moisture on its own, I preferred to layer the mint balm on the top to give the color a richer appearance. As I mentioned, the mint balm was my favorite not only because the taste is pleasant (especially under a facial coating) but mainly because it allows the product to apply more gritly to the lips. The final balm, which has a thinner consistency and squirts out of a tube, is great for days when your lips are flying your SOS flag. The ingredients: organic and natural The main trick of Eos is that all its balms are 100% natural and organic. They are tested under the supervision of a dermatologist, never tested in animals, and sustainable source a handful of their ingredients, including shea butter, oils and wax. Some other delicious ingredients that they formulate with which I found attractive are avocado oil, sunflower seed oil, jojoba oil, beaver seed oil and olive oil (all oils, basically). Potential Sensitivity: Natural Ingredients Although Eos balms develop under the guidance of a dermatologist, natural ingredients still have the potential to cause unwanted interactions. For example, my sister is allergic to avocado (my worst nightmare) and receives an eruption at any time that uses a skin care product with avocado oil. Natural doesn't always mean you're completely safe from irritation, so make sure you read ingredients before using any product if you're prone to such things.
